Originally supplied to Hoffman of New York (the USA's largest Jaguar Importer) having been built on the 22nd April 1952.

This example left the factory in Pastel blue with grey hooding and duo-blue interior. Quite a striking colour scheme but nonetheless one that was quintessentially 50s, hence we are quite glad that the car has subsequently been restored in old english white with red interior.

We purchased the car from New Zealand where it had lived for many years, and had been cosmetically restored to a very good standard as can be seen in the photographs. Having lived in the USA and NZ for all of it's life the car has benefitted from the dry climates and therefore not suffered any rust. In fact when on the lift, we could not see any evidence of it having been welded.

Since having the car back in the UK (we repatriated this one in early 2016) we have undertaken an extensive program of sympathetic works to get the car to the standard it presents in today, these works include, but are not limited to:

Full front suspension and brake rebuild with new bushes, bearings, stub axles and splined hubs, new leaf springs, new Tudor red C-type specification 72 spoke 16" wire wheels with Blockley radial tyres, new XK120 headlamps, paint correction and coach polish, interior leather conditioning, new dark red adjustable lap seat belts with chrome buckles, and of course a full check over, thorough service and clean bill of health, to ensure this matching numbers car can serve it's new owner reliably as it has done, even at the tender age of 65 years old.

On the road, this is a delight to drive. The works carried out along with a gentle life led mean that this car belies its age and feels like a much more vehicle than it actually is. It is no wonder that the car caused such a sensation when released in 1948, and compared to many comparable cars from this period, the XK120 still represents incredibly good value in today's market.
